There is a particular kind of magic that lingers in the Southern Highlands at the height of summer, where honeyed light settles softly over the historic charm of Montrose House. For this celebration, the Montrose House wedding flowers were imagined as a floral story gently gathered from an English country garden – effortless, airy, and quietly abundant with seasonal beauty.

Inspired by the warmth of the day, the colour palette unfolded in notes of sun-washed lemon and ripe apricot, layered with crisp whites, blush pinks, and trailing, wild verdant greens. It was a palette that felt luminous yet restrained, echoing the softness of a romantic summer’s day.

Designed in a relaxed garden style, the florals embraced movement, texture, and a sense of natural ease. Each element felt as though it had been foraged with intention, then loosely composed to allow every stem to find its place. Garden roses in velvety apricot and soft pink tones formed the heart of the designs, their petals opening generously in the warmth. Lisianthus wove in a quiet elegance, while cosmos and scabiosa lent a whimsical, meadow-like lightness. Chamomile and Queen Anne’s lace drifted throughout, adding that fine, lace-like detail so synonymous with romantic garden style florals.

The ceremony unfolded on a quintessentially hot summer’s day. As the heat settled across the landscape, Montrose House offered its own quiet reprieve. Beneath a canopy of ancient trees, the ceremony space became a sanctuary- cool, shaded, and softly lit with dappled sunlight. Framed by the estate’s vintage doors, the setting felt intimate and grounded, as though nature itself had drawn close to witness the moment the couple exchanged vows.

In keeping with a thoughtful, considered approach, the ceremony flowers were designed to continue their story into the evening. Once vows were spoken, the arrangements were carefully relocated to the reception at Badgery Hall, where they found new life in elegant white urns behind the bridal table and at the ends of the long, communal settings. In this way, the Montrose House wedding flowers carried their romantic garden narrative seamlessly from ceremony to reception – lingering well into the golden light of the evening and beyond. By repurposing these lush designs, I ensured the romantic garden aesthetic flowed seamlessly from the first kiss to the first dance.

​The transition from the sun-drenched gardens to the rustic elegance of Badgery Hall was marked by a seamless continuation of our floral narrative. To bring the English Garden spirit indoors, I focused on a intimate, delicate details.

In keeping with a thoughtful and sustainable approach, the statement ceremony arrangements were elegantly repurposed into large white urns positioned behind the bridal table and at the ends of the long timber feasting tables, these overflowing designs created a lush, high-impact backdrop that felt both stately and wild.

Across the tables, the design shifted to a more intimate scale. I styled lush, overflowing statement white urns and clusters of delicate bud vases, each holding a curated selection of blooms. This allowed guests to appreciate the intricate beauty of a single garden rose, the dancing petals of cosmos, or the fine texture of Queen Anne’s lace up close. These small clusters created a rhythmic, meadow-like effect down the length of the tables, ensuring that the Montrose House wedding flowers remained the focal point of the styling on the tables.
